ENEMY FORCES
THE INVADERS FROM SHINING HOLLOW
GENERAL MASTERS
General Masters leads the hostile invasion force from his heavily fortified headquarters in Shining Hollow, commanding thousands of troops who traveled inland by ski and snow-buggy from the southeastern corner of Midwinter. His forces are organized into 32 mobile units, each consisting of approximately 60 vehicles, supported by unmanned reconnaissance drones, bombers, and spotter planes directing long-range mortar fire.
Masters emerged from the south-east settlements, where newer migrants to Midwinter—many embittered by their mainland experiences—had established a separate community. While Captain Stark initially ignored rumors of Masters establishing an "alternative agency of law enforcement," the general's ambitions extended far beyond mere policing. His ultimate goal is nothing less than total domination of the island, seeking to control the last habitable oasis in what the world has become: an icy desert.
Despite his ruthless drive for conquest, Masters surprisingly insists on taking prisoners and treating them well, recognizing that his forces operate with limited fuel and munitions. He needs rapid victories and widespread surrender to succeed. However, his true intentions become clear in his own words: "When Midwinter is mine, De Falco, there will be great celebrations. I shall drive in triumph through every village in the land! Then is the time to deal with our prisoners. Discipline is what these people need, De Falco, discipline!" His vision of Midwinter is one of authoritarian control, where the free-spirited inhabitants of the Free Villages would be broken and bent to his will.
Masters fields a formidable military machine, equipped with guided missiles, heat-seeking weapons, and advanced tracking technology. His reconnaissance drones can locate resistance fighters even when they're skiing high in the mountains. The general's strategy focuses on capturing all Heat Mines—the source of power generation across the island—knowing that control of energy means control of survival itself in Midwinter's frozen landscape. Yet he underestimates one crucial factor: the determination of ordinary civilians willing to fight for their freedom alongside the outnumbered Peace Force.
STRATEGIC WARFARE
You are fighting a guerilla war—heavily outnumbered and outgunned. One effective strategy is a "scorched earth" policy: destroying buildings that benefit the enemy, sometimes in anticipation of their arrival. General Masters does not suspect that civilians will fight for their freedom.
ENEMY'S PRIMARY TARGET
Heat Mines are the enemy's primary targets. They provide all power generation on the island. Once all Heat Mines are captured or destroyed, your people will be forced to surrender. Defend at all costs.
DESTROY FACTORIES
Blowing up Factories deprives the enemy of ammunition. Without ammunition resupply, enemy units lose their ability to engage in sustained combat.
DESTROY SYNTHESIS PLANTS
Blowing up Synthesis Plants deprives the enemy of fuel. Each enemy unit's speed and mobility depends on its fuel supply from Snow-Bear tankers.
DESTROY WAREHOUSES
Blowing up Warehouses deprives the enemy of both fuel and ammunition. The enemy needs large warehouses to supply their huge army—stores are of little interest to them.
SABOTAGE RADIO STATIONS
Sabotaging enemy-held radio stations enables Professor Kristiansen to recruit a full team of 32 members by overriding their jamming signals.
ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE
To win, you must blow the enemy HQ at Shining Hollow to smithereens. This will eliminate General Masters and end the invasion once and for all.
COLONELS - SENIOR COMMAND
CAPTAINS - FIELD COMMANDERS
⚠ STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE
General Masters' HQ in Shining Hollow is the ultimate target. Destroying it will eliminate the general and end the invasion. The enemy forces consist of 32 mobile attack units and unmanned aircraft capable of tracking targets across the entire island. Heat Mines are their primary objectives—once all are captured, the war is lost.
